IndiaWorks Energy GmbH i. Gr. is bridging Germany’s green energy needs with India’s skilled technical talent. Based in Freiburg, we combine German craftsmanship standards with expertise from India to address the growing demand for qualified professionals in HVAC, plumbing and renewable energy.

Our mission is to enable a smooth, sustainable energy transition by providing job-ready professionals trained in technical skills, German language, and cultural integration.

Dr. Handirk von Ungern-Sternberg

Co-founder/CEO

Handirk von Ungern-Sternberg co-founded IndiaWorks and previously served on the executive board of the Chamber of Crafts Freiburg. He connects business, politics, and associations to create sustainable skilled-labor ecosystems. Handirk has a PhD in economics.

Aditi Banerjee

Co-founder/CEO

Aditi Banerjee profile: Co-founder and CEO of Magic Billion in India and IndiaWorks in Germany, with many years of experience in international recruitment and ethical migration pathways. An Economist by academic training, Aditi spent 15 years prior to founding Magic Billion, in development finance and public sector projects including at the World Bank in Washington DC, Boston Consulting Group in Delhi, and HRH King Charles’s supported British Asian Trust in London.

Jochen Sahl

HVAC- Master

Certified HVAC Master craftsman.
Runs the traditional Sahl company in Freiburg in the third generation.
The family business looks back on over 110 years of history and stands for craftsmanship excellence, state-of-the-art heating and air conditioning technology, and outstanding training quality.
